Hello my name is Sarah Shadi and I am a Ph.D. student in the APA-accredited clinical psychology program from Alliant International University’s, San Francisco campus. I am currently conducting research in an attempt to understand feelings of social isolation in people with brain injuries.
Dr. Paul Harch, LSUHSC Clinical Professor of Medicine, is the principal investigator on a randomized prospective trial to determine the effectiveness of 40 hyperbaric oxygen treatments on symptoms and cognitive function in adults with the persistent post-concussion syndrome of mile traumatic brain injury.
We are seeking people who had a Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) when they were at least 40 years old, are at least one year post-injury, and were hospitalized for the injury. Interested individuals will have the opportunity to participate in either 1 or 2 interviews designed to learn more about brain injury and aging. Interviews will include a brief test of thinking abilities and questions about health and functioning after brain injury. Participants can complete all portions of the study over the phone, via email, or through the mail.
