24 Hour Support: (504) 982-0685
The BIALA hotline has been a huge source of hope for me. As the mother of a daughter who has a brain injury, it has been extremely comforting to be able to talk to someone who is empathetic, kind and comforting. Somedays I just need someone to talk to so it is great knowing there is someone there willing to listen to me.
My son sustained a spinal cord injury a few years ago, and I still rely on the resources BIALA has to offer to help us live our lives. When I am feeling down and need some encouragement, the BIALA hotline is the first place I reach out to. I feel a sense of relief after I call because of the kindness and compassion I am given. BIALA seems to really care about those they serve, and I am so thankful to have someone to talk to.
Having a spinal cord injury is very challenging but with the support I have received from BIALA, life is a little easier. The kindness and compassion I receive when I call the hotline is wonderful plus the resources I learn about are invaluable. My spirits are always lifted after I reach out to BIALA.
BIALA has helped improved my quality of life by providing me lists of recreational activities I can engage in. They have not only given me contacts and information but they follow up with me to ensure I have found the resources I need. I am forever grateful for their dedication to those of us with spinal cord injuries. I feel like I have a friend in BIALA.
After my son sustained a traumatic brain injury, BIALA was very helpful in providing me information on the TH/SCI Trust Fund. They walked me through the process and helped me every step of the way. It was a very stressful time in my life so I was very grateful for their support and understanding.
I enjoy attending the BIALA annual conference every year because it gives me the opportunity to meet other brain injury survivors. After having an injury, it is nice to be able to talk to other people who have gone through similar experiences. I appreciate that BIALA hosts the conference and look forward to it every year.
Working as an advocate with spinal cord injury individuals, I have found very useful information from BIALA. They are quick to respond to my inquiries, and we work well together to find the resources individuals and caregivers need. Life with spinal cord injuries can be challenging so it is wonderful to know I have an organization such as BIALA to work with to make a difference in the lives of those we serve.
After my husband suffered a spinal cord injury, I reached out to BIALA and found not only a wealth of information but an organization that gave me hope. At times, things seemed very bleak but I would call the resource center, and they were able to help me through those difficult moments. I will forever be grateful for the compassion and understanding that I received when I call the hotline.
Using the resource guide on the BIALA website has helped me locate many things to improve my quality of life. It is nice to have this information available to me so that I don’t get frustrated trying to find what I need. I appreciate BIALA helping me whenever I reach out.
As a brain injury survivor, it has been an honor serve on the Board of Directors for the Brain Injury Association Louisiana (BIALA) for many years. Being connected to BIALA in such a way has provided me different opportunities to share insights and help others. My involvement with BIALA is something I cherish greatly.
