The Mission of Families Helping Families of Greater New Orleans is to educate and connect children and adults with disabilities and special health care needs, and their families to resources, services, and supports to attend school, work, and thrive in their communities.
Serving parishes of Orleans, Plaquemines, St. Bernard, and Jefferson.

We offer a resource lending library, quarterly email newsletter, research on disability related topics, information and referral, education and training and peer support and advocacy skills training." Families Helping Families Region 7 is a non-profit family resource center. We are a group of families who, through our own experiences, promote peer support and advocacy and are committed to alleviating hardships of other families who have members with disabilities or special needs. The term, "special needs", includes physical, mental, emotional, behavioral and/or academic issues.
Family Caregiver Alliance supports and sustains the important work of families nationwide caring for loved ones with chronic, disabling health conditions.
Family Voices, a national grassroots network of families and friends, advocates for health care services for all children and youth with special health care needs.

Working with medical professionals, therapists, and families, each Freedom Concepts model is thoughtfully designed to accommodate the needs of individuals with disabilities such as Cerebral Palsy, Spina Bifida, Muscular Dystrophy, Angelman Syndrome, Rett Syndrome, and visual impairment. Any bike can be further customized and adjusted to the exact specifications and unique requirements of the rider, ensuring that each Freedom Concepts bike is a perfect fit.
Assist with mobility equipment, medical equipment, and wheelchairs. Applications have to be made by a Referring Professional.
Amount of grants will vary. Grants are paid directly to the vendor and not the family.
