The Client Assistance Program (CAP) helps Louisiana Rehabilitation Services (LRS) and American Indian Rehabilitation Services (AIRS) consumers and applicants to understand all their benefits and rights under the Rehabilitation Act of1973. When appropriate, and the issue is worthy CAP may assist consumers and applicants in pursuing legal, administrative or other appropriate ways to protect their rights.

Developmental Disabilities Councils receive federal funds to conduct advocacy, capacity building and systems change activities to promote the self determination, independence, productivity, integration and inclusion of people with developmental disabilities in community life.

Louisiana Developmental Disabilities Council is made up of people from every region of the state who are appointed by the governor to develop and implement a five year plan to address the needs of person with disabilities. Promote advocacy, capacity building, and systemic change for individuals with developmental disabilities and their families.
