Split Second Fitness is the first facility in Louisiana dedicated to people living with paralysis, stroke or amputation. It is part of the Split Second Foundation which is is a reintegration program for those who have suffered from a recent neurological disorder such as a spinal cord injury. The program will help patients transition from inpatient rehabilitation back into society, and will include a mental health component, case management and other services for those living with paralysis or amputation in Louisiana.
Split Second Fitness empowers individuals who live with a disabling condition to transform their hope into action. We provide a safe environment for research-based, individualized exercise programs that are proven to be highly effective for improving health, function and quality of life.
Every person who becomes a member of Split Second Fitness will be assessed by experienced staff in order to evaluate the client’s strengths, weaknesses, and needs. Following the assessment, an individualized regimen will be created for each client. With a strategy in hand and regularly scheduled workouts, the trainer and client will work to improve the following areas: ambulatory locomotor movement, balance, posture, motor function, neuromuscular development, range of motion, and more.
