Our independent local 501(c)(3) non-profit organization is known as Arc of Greater New Orleans. We currently serve some 600 children and adults in Jefferson, Orleans, St. Bernard, Plaquemines and St. Tammany parishes.

Assistance Dogs International, Inc. (ADI) is a worldwide coalition of not-for-profit programs that train and place Assistance Dogs. Founded in 1986 from a group of seven small programs, ADI has become the leading authority in the Assistance Dog industry. Members of ADI meet regularly to share ideas and conduct business regarding educating the public about assistance dogs, advocating for the legal rights of people with disabilities partnered with assistance dogs, and the setting of standards and establishing guidelines and ethics for the training of these dogs.

Connections Circle will be offered the first and third Wednesday of the month from 1:00 - 2:00 p.m. CST via ZOOM.
Connecting Individuals through Recreation, Community, Learning, and Engagement
Connections Circle is an inclusive program designed to bring together individuals living with brain and/or spinal cord injuries, their caregivers, and families through a mix of virtual and in-person educational, wellness, social, and recreational activities. The program aims to engage current participants more deeply while reaching new individuals, including those in rural areas, to ensure they benefit from BIALA’s programs and services. Connections Circle will foster stronger support networks, provide meaningful learning experiences, and enhance the quality of life for all who participate.

Baseball league for individuals with brain and spinal cord injuries.
It is open to children, young adults, and adults 21 years old and older.
Headway is a multifaceted community integration program for veterans who served on or after 9/11 living with a brain injury, spinal cord injury, or other neurological condition. They work with warriors and caregivers to maximize independence, improve skills, and build supportive networks.
Some activities offered: adaptive sports, yoga, horticulture, art and music therapy, community outings, and more.
Headway DAY program is free thanks to the support of Wounded Warrior Project.
Acute care hospital with inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation.
This group is open to Brain Injury survivors, family, and friends.
Meetings take place on the first Wednesday at 7:00 PM.
