TOURO INFIRMARY
Founded in 1852, Touro Infirmary is New Orleans' only community-based, non-profit, faith-based hospital. In 1929, Touro Infirmary was one of the first hospitals in the United States to establish a physical therapy department, which was a significant innovation in the city. This department paved the way for the nationally recognized Rehabilitation Center at Touro, offering specialized programs for patients with catastrophic injuries and neurological disorders. Calling all caregivers interested in supporting, sharing, and learning from one another. Touro's Neurologic Rehabilitation Caregiver Support Group provides a compassionate space to connect with others who understand the journey, offering guidance, encouragement, and resources to help navigate caregiving with confidence.

Touro Rehabilitation Center offers advanced inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation programs that support recovery and independence for patients facing catastrophic injuries, neurological disorders, and complex conditions such as stroke, Parkinson’s disease, spinal cord and brain injuries, and post-cancer treatment complications.

The Trauma Recovery Center is the first of its kind in Louisiana. Rooted in principles of health equity and social justice, the center provides wraparound services to people whose lives have been disrupted by traumatic injury and violent crime.
