The mission of the Human Services Department is to offer an array of services through its various offices, initiatives, and collaborative networks in accordance with community needs.

Calcasieu Public Transit has nine buses, which are all equipped with liftgates for easy wheelchair accessibility.
Transit services are available in Rural and Urban areas of Calcasieu Parish.
Services are offered to those who are elderly, disabled, and the general public.
There is a service fee for each ride. Transit office hours are 8 a.m.- 5 p.m. Monday-Friday. Buses run 5 a.m.-10 p.m. Monday-Saturday.
Available camps for adults with brain-related injuries.
Weekend camp for survivors of traumatic brain injury.
Lead with independence. Canine Companions® provides service dogs to adults, children and veterans with disabilities and facility dogs to professionals working in healthcare, criminal justice and educational settings - at no cost to our clients

Programs offered: Aging and Disability Resource Center (ADRC), Louisiana SenioRX, Senior Community Service Employment Program (SCSEP), Wellness Programs, Caregiver Respite, Southeast Louisiana Legal Services (SLLS), and Long Term Care Ombudsmen.
