Self advocacy group run by people with disabilities, for people with disabilities. People First of Louisiana supports people with disabilities to empower themselves in becoming effective decision makers, to gain more independence, and enjoy life as equal citizens of the United States of America.
We offer four core independent living services, deaf and hard of hearing services, employment services, transportation services, counseling case management services and personal care assistance services to people with disabilities.

The Trauma Recovery Center is the first of its kind in Louisiana. Rooted in principles of health equity and social justice, the center provides wraparound services to people whose lives have been disrupted by traumatic injury and violent crime.
LOCATION: Trauma Recovery Center at University Medical Center New Orleans, Clinic Building, Floor 3, Zone C, Enter at 2101 Tulane Avenue.
All of the services provided by The Tri-State Advocacy Project are FREE of charge.
Treatment and care for trauma patients has changed drastically in the past two decades. As more patients survive catastrophic injuries, they now have a greater need for extended rehabilitation and home care, but unfortunately, the payment for this care has become more difficult to obtain. As advocates, we help the patient and family identify all sources of funding, to allow the patient to maximize their rehabilitation potential and live as independently as possible.
